The United States is working with Congress to deliver an additional $37 million in cyber assistance to Ukraine, European Pravda writes.
The United States and Ukraine met on June 1, 2023 in Tallinn, Estonia to re-convene the US-Ukraine Cyber Dialogue, an annual discussion on cyber policy issues.
“As part of this support, the United States is working with Congress to deliver an additional $37 million in cyber assistance to Ukraine, which would bring the total to $82 million since February 2022, and over $120 million since 2016,” the US Department of State stated.
The US State Department indicates that this support has helped to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to detect, deter, and respond to cyber incidents and threats, and has provided support to protect critical networks and digital infrastructure.
Furthermore, both sides shared their perspectives on the role of cybersecurity in Ukraine’s long-term digital development, including support of the country’s workforce, institutions, and critical infrastructure.
The Ukraine-US Cyber Dialogue was initiated in 2017, and five meetings have been held in this format since then.
In April, the Chief of the US Cyber Command, Paul Miki Nakasone, stated that US military forces were conducting “offensive cyber operations” in support of Ukraine.
