As of 12:00 PM on March 29, 2025, the situation in Ukraine remains tense. Russian forces continue shelling Ukrainian cities and towns, causing significant destruction and civilian casualties. The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are holding firm on key fronts, international support is growing, and the humanitarian situation remains critical.

Frontline Situation:

  • Kherson region: Russian forces shelled 36 settlements, including Kherson. More than 50 infrastructure facilities were damaged, and 9 people were injured.
  • Poltava region: Russian troops launched attacks damaging residential buildings. Details are being clarified.
  • Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled 73 enemy assaults near Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, and other locations.

Destroyed Targets & Achievements by UAF:

  • Ukrainian forces destroyed at least 164 Russian UAVs, 23 tanks, 64 artillery systems, 3 air defense systems, and 1 MLRS, significantly reducing the enemy’s offensive capability.
  • Ukrainian units successfully held defensive lines on the eastern front, preventing Russian advances near Pokrovsk.

  • President Zelenskyy announced new agreements with European partners to expand intelligence cooperation, including access to satellite data.

  • The President of Finland proposed establishing a special EU envoy for Ukraine to coordinate diplomatic efforts.

International Military & Financial Support:

Humanitarian Situation in Ukraine:

  • Ukraine successfully returned five children from temporarily occupied territories via Qatari mediation.
  • Russia conducted a massive drone attack using more than 170 Shaheds, heavily damaging civilian infrastructure.
  • UN Coordinator in Ukraine, Matias Schmale, visited Zaporizhzhia and reviewed the reconstruction and modernization of a local hospital that will become an energy-independent facility.

Domestic Situation in Ukraine:

  • On March 28, Russian forces launched a massive Shahed drone attack on Dnipro. Four people were killed and 22 injured, including a 27-year-old pregnant woman. The attack damaged the Bartolomeo hotel and restaurant complex, several apartment buildings, private homes, and infrastructure facilities. Rescue workers operated through the night to eliminate the consequences.
  • Financial aid for internally displaced persons (IDPs) will be automatically extended from April 1: UAH 3,000 for children and persons with disabilities; UAH 2,000 for others.
  • Ukraine will switch to daylight saving time on the night of March 29–30 by moving clocks one hour forward.
