In the latest updates on the conflict between the Ukrainian and Russian forces, significant developments have unfolded on both the Donetsk and Kherson fronts, revealing ongoing battles, strategic maneuvers, and shifting dynamics in the face of intense military engagements.
On November 9, there were many important updates from the front of the clashes between the Ukrainian army and the army of the Russian invaders – YouTube channel Military Lab reports.
The fighting was concentrated in these areas:
On the Donetsk front, fierce battles are ongoing in the Avdiivka sector.
As confirmed by sources on both sides, during the last 48 hours, the Russian Army continued to launch waves of small infantry units and attack the Ukrainian positions along the railway.
As confirmed by the Ukrainian source Deep State, Russians were able to establish a foothold east of the railway and continued to move forward, pushing west and north-west, making advances near the Ukrainian-controlled village of Stepove, just two kilometers north of the Chemical Plant.
Despite the claims made by some sources about Russian troops establishing a foothold on the eastern part of the village, the situation remains unclear and covered by the fog of war.
In a statement made a few hours ago, the Russian source Rybar declared that Russian forces managed to launch a quick attack on the village without being able to gain a foothold inside the Ukrainian positions.
Rybar informed us that after this attempt, the Russian troops were forced to move back, switching to a defensive approach while working to consolidate their positions east of the railway.
According to Rybar, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to put pressure on and launch counterattacks on the northern flank of the Russian Army in the Novokalynove-Krasnohorivka line.
On the southern part of the sector, Russian forces continue to put pressure on the Ukrainian defense, but the territorial situation has not changed much.
It seems that the bad weather conditions and the mud season are slowing down the Russian offensive in this direction.
Ukrainian sources published a video showing a Russian convoy consisting of two tanks and two trucks that, according to them, got stuck on the muddy roads near Vodyane.
Today, after a month of the full-scale offensive of the Russian forces over Avdiivka, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi made a statement in which he congratulated the Ukrainian soldiers for putting up a month of heroic resistance defending the town of Avdiivka.
According to him, during a month of fierce clashes, Russian forces suffered massive casualties and losses, with Ukrainian soldiers destroying over 100 tanks, 250 armored vehicles, 50 artillery systems, and at least 7 Su-25 aircraft.
Russian forces also suffered about 10,000 casualties in manpower, according to the Ukrainian General.
Despite the heavy losses, on-the-ground sources from the defenders of Avdiivka say that the Russian Command has not abandoned their plans to encircle the town.
According to the spokesman of the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army, the Russian Command has gathered up to 40,000 troops in preparation for a powerful third wave of attacks over the Ukrainian stronghold.
On the Kherson front, Russian sources are warning that the situation is becoming increasingly difficult and critical for the Russian Army.
Ukrainian forces have slowly but surely gained the upper hand in terms of firepower as the Ukrainian troops continue to expand their bridgeheads under the coverage of the Ukrainian drone and artillery units.
During the last 48 hours, geolocated footage confirms that the Ukrainian soldiers expanded their control north of Pidstepne, securing control over a good part of the trenches in this direction and slowly approaching the town of Kozachi Laheri from the west.
Now the Ukrainian drone operators and artillery forces have full fire control over the key E58 highway, which goes south of a series of settlements that are situated on the eastern banks of the Dnipro River.
Today, Ukrainian sources published footage of the destruction of a large Russian convoy about 20 kilometers south of Oleshky.
The Russian unit, consisting of 11 trucks, was transporting soldiers and ammunition towards the line of contact but was ambushed by precise strikes from the Ukrainian HIMARS systems, which destroyed six of the trucks and caused over 40 casualties among the Russian soldiers.
Apart from the advantage in firepower that is evident in the footage that gets published every day by online sources, two more important factors that are helping the Ukrainian forces on the ground to quickly improve their positions and expand their area of control are the deployment of the Ukrainian air defense systems near the western bank of the river as well as the shortage of electronic warfare systems on the Russian side.
As a result, the number of Russian airstrikes on the concentrations of Ukrainian troops and equipment has dropped significantly during the past few days, while the Ukrainian drones are now capable of striking deep into the Russian rear.
Russian Telegram channels confirmed these new developments and also reported that Ukrainian soldiers advanced south of Krynky, with clashes now being reported taking place inside the forest areas near the key E58 highway, which the Ukrainian forces intend to reach in order to cut off one of the main Russian supply lines of the Dnipro front.
