In recent developments on the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian forces have achieved significant gains west of Robotyne, forcing Russian retreat and securing strategic heights crucial for their flank, while heavy clashes persist in the Avdiivka sector and Kherson sees expanding Ukrainian presence across the Dnipro River.
On October 30, there were many important updates from the front of the clashes between the Ukrainian army and the army of the Russian invaders – YouTube channel Military Lab reports.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, during the last 48 hours, Ukrainian forces made important advances west of Robotyne.
After days of heavy clashes between the armored units of the Russian and Ukrainian forces, the Russians were defeated and forced to retreat while the Ukrainian forces began to capture the important heights, which are located west of the village of Robotyne.
Russian sources published footage of their artillery shelling the tree lines west of Robotyne using their BM-21 Grad MLRS, confirming the Ukrainian advance in this area.
Control over these heights is very important in securing the right flank of the Ukrainian Army, and expanding their area of control to the west also allows the Ukrainian forces to operate in a safer environment because, after being pushed back from the heights, the Russians will lose the ability to closely monitor the Ukrainian forces in Robotyne.
Ukrainian forces likely intend to push a little further west and establish defensive positions along the river line that goes between Robotyne and Kopani, taking advantage of the terrain while at the same time overlooking the Russian positions to the south and establishing full fire control over the road that goes from the southern outskirts of Kopani to the main stronghold of this area, which is located just south of Robotyne.
So far, this road has been used on many occasions by the Russian armored units in their attempts to regain control over the key trenches.
In Donetsk, heavy battles continue in the Avdiivka sector.
Today, Ukrainian sources published footage of heavy ongoing battles that are taking place along the railway line and near the waste heap.
So far, the Russian forces have not managed to break through the Ukrainian defense in this direction, and at the same time, the Russians have not yet managed to establish a solid presence on top of the stronghold of Terrikon.
From the footage released today by Ukrainian sources, it seems that the Russian presence is limited to only a few soldiers.
The Ukrainian artillery has full fire control over the hill, causing heavy casualties among the Russian troops and making it impossible for the Russians to use this stronghold in support of their offensive operations north of Avdiivka.
It seems that the deployment of the new reinforcements, among them the experienced 47th Mechanized Brigade, which uses Leopard 2 tanks and M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, has stopped the Russian advance north of Avdiivka, which is the most critical part of the entire frontline.
However, the situation remains difficult for the Ukrainians because, according to some Ukrainian sources, the Russian Command is preparing for a major attack on Avdiivka’s chemical plant in the coming days.
In the southern part of the front, the Russian forces have failed to advance towards their main objectives, which are the villages of Sieverne and Tonenke.
Sources from both sides reported that Russian forces managed to capture the quarry east of Vodyane, but according to the Ukrainian source Deep State, this position only overlooks the areas to the south and, for this reason, is not a strategically important position since it cannot be used to support the Russian offensive operations to the north, which are needed in order to complete their goal of encircling Avdiivka.
In Kherson, Ukrainian forces increased their presence across the Dnipro River, and during the last 48 hours, they managed to expand their foothold on several points of the eastern bank.
Ukrainian marines crossed the Dnipro River on small boats and reached the village of Krynky, where, after hours of heavy clashes inside the settlement, Ukrainians managed to clear the area and establish a solid foothold inside the village.
According to reports from Russian and Ukrainian sources, the Ukrainian soldiers managed to expand their control over the village of Krynky, and now they control an area of about 2 square kilometers, or almost half of the settlement.
The Ukrainian artillery and the experienced FPV drone operators are doing an excellent job of protecting their units by establishing full fire control and dominating the entire surrounding area, including the roads and forests.
As a result of their work, the Ukrainian forces damaged and destroyed plenty of equipment, including a T-90M tank and several BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.
After failing to stop the Ukrainian forces from establishing a solid foothold on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, the Russian leadership decided to replace the former commander of the Dnipro grouping of forces, General Oleg Makarevich, by appointing the former head of the Russian Airborne forces, General Mikhail Teplinsky, in his place.
